What is God Like?
Advent is a time of waiting, of wondering, of anticipating, of praying for Jesus to come. During this Advent season at Hebron we take on the curiosity of a child wondering: “What is God like?”
Our daily devotions will encourage us to wonder about the God we worship and serve through exploring the names given to Jesus throughout the Bible. In the Hebrew tradition names were not just something you called someone, but were a window into understanding the person. Through studying the names of Jesus, we will learn more about what God is like.
The devotions have five parts: Breathe (settling in), a Scripture verse (and sometimes a passage to look up & read on your own), a brief reflection, a wonder question, and prayer. This form is adapted from Dwell curriculum.
We want this time to be interactive. Please take time to respond to the devotions and share your own thoughts about what God is like. You can share these on Facebook, on the website, with Instagram, by email, or by calling your Pastoral Care Elder or Pastor Elizabeth.
